Dagje... Makkum

Makkum has a lovely beach, not too busy, clean -- and a very long shallows, where the girls can walk for more than a hundred metres and still only be knee deep. And no big mean waves to knock you down :-) That'll be different when we head over to Terschelling, where we've rented two houses (a different house each week) -- I can't wait for summer vacation! (Now if only I can arrange to have the same exact weather as we've been having the last two weeks!)

Not too happy about having to carry one's own beach chair.

But that's soon forgiven once the water is within reach.

Anna spent the whole time we were there in the water, nothing could lure her away.

When it was way, way, WAY past the time we were supposed to leave, we sent Mirthe out to bribe her with the promise of pancakes for dinner.

Which Anna doesn't really like all that much, but you get quite an appetite from all that fresh air. And pancakes always means a side of fruit salad, and if there's one thing Anna loves, it's fruit -- in any shape, form or color.
